SAAC Action Continues as Academy League Ramps Up
The final two weeks in April saw plenty of action on the pitch in SAAC league and development action. Academy League action is in full swing in the U14, U15 & U16 Boys Divisions and the Spring Challenges wrapped up in two weekends of ideal soccer weather.
In the second day of SAAC Challenges, the U10s and U13s took the field and provided some entertaining soccer. In the U10 bracket, new members Atletico Toronto Academy took the honours, coming out on top of a 10 team pool. In the other group, RVDL Academy team showed that they are ready for another successful season by taking the U13 title.
In the Junior Boys Showcase Division, Sigma FC and Master’s FA have come out flying, sporting a combined 5-0 record to lead the league.
Power FC lead the way in the Intermediate Boys Division, after a tight 2-1 victory over highly regarded ANB Jr. RVDL are 1-0 and in second place.
Sigma FC have also started quickly in the Senior Boys Division, already 3-0 in this young season. Both ANB Futbol and Atak Sports are 1-0 in a tie for 2nd place, with Atak Sports turning heads after a dominating victory over Metropolitan FA. This division appears headed for a tight, season-long battle.
